The St. Ann Health Department is reporting a decline in suspected dengue cases in the parish.

Leroy Scott, Chief Public Health Inspector for St. Ann, has linked this to sustained efforts by the Health Ministry to reduce mosquito breeding sites.

He said a multi-sectoral approach this year as part of the dengue response has already started with extensive drain cleaning as well as the removal of bulky waste in some communities.

He added that the enhanced Vector Control Program including the assignment of the temporary vector control workers has been extend for another 15 weeks to March 2020.
