In a back to school address Sunday night, Education Minister Fayval Williams said textbooks and e-books have been distributed to schools and grants released.
She said schools will receive additional grants this month.
The Education Ministry said, while most schools have already received desks and chairs, it will continue the delivery of furniture throughout the academic year.
Eight schools have also joined the ministry's furniture making programme.
That initiative will increase the supply of school furniture, she said.
