Two St. James men are among five persons who have been charged for murder in relation to five incidents dating back to March of this year.

The two have been identified as 40-year-old Jeconiah Dixon of Roehampton, St. James and 32-year-old Andre Bennett, a mechanic of Adelphi district, also in the parish. Dixon is accused of
strangling a Westmoreland woman and dumping her body in bushes, while Bennett allegedly shot and killed 23-year-old Toshane Peterkin during a dispute.

Also charged are 34-year-old Damion Ewin, otherwise called ‘Bolo’ of Somerset district, St. Thomas; 34-year-old security guard, Marvin Powell of Mount Salus district, Stony Hill, Kingston
9 and 26-year-old Shane Barrett, a barber of Greenwich Road, Kingston 5.

Sleuths in St Thomas allege that on March 1, Ewin shot and killed 59-year-old Michael Santos, a St. Thomas contractor.

Powell was charged by detectives attached to the St. Andrew Central Division in relation to an August 29 incident, after security camera footage showed him using a wooden stick to inflict
several blows to an unidentified man, who later died.

Barrett was arrested by the Kingston Central Police following allegations that on Friday, July 05 he gunned down 52-year old Garfield Palma along Wildman Street, Kingston.

The court dates for the men will be announced later.
