Young people from marginalised communities will be enrolled in residential camps under the Jamaica National Service Corps.
The six-week camps will be managed by HEART NSTA Trust, with funding from the European Union and will involve 260 participants per quarter.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness, who launched the initiative on Friday, said it will cater to the holistic development of participants.
"This programme is designed to take youngsters from these communities and expose them to training, personal and character development, skills development," he said, noting as well that "the intent of all of this is to reach them in terms of how they think; it is to change their mindset and their outlook on life."
