The Minister of Education, Youth, and Information says it has received information that teachers at a number of schools have not turned up for classes, and as result plans are being put in place to address the matter.
"I became aware of all the social media posts about the development," said minster Fayval Wiliams during an interview on Thursday.
A number of parents have also confirmed the development and said they too received notes from educational institutions to pick up their children early as a result of the reported industrial action being taken by some educators.
Williams said as a result, checks were being made around the various regions to gather more information regarding the issue.
"I am in touch with the Minter of Labour and Social Security seeking some guidance as to where we go in this matter," said Williams.
