After an exciting journey through five community tournaments, Supreme Ventures Limited is ready to deliver an electrifying grand finale of the inaugural Supreme Domino Masters Series.
The National Finals set for July 2 at the Chinese Benevolent Association (CBA) on Hope Road in St. Andrew, is expected to attract hundreds of domino enthusiasts showcasing their skills in the cutthroat format of the game for a chance to win the title of National Domino Champion and the cash prize of One Million Dollars.
Senior VP of Retail and Customer Operations, Supreme Ventures Limited, Dwayne Tulloch, expressed his excitement for the upcoming finals, “It has been an awesome journey, taking the Supreme Domino Masters Series across the island over the past few months. We’re very proud of the growth of the tournament and the camaraderie that has built up amongst the players. If the energy among the domino fraternity is anything to go by, we are all in for some epic domino action at the Finals on July 2 at CBA.”
The winners and players who already placed Top 16 in the community tournaments have earned an automatic seat at the tournament. The competition remains open to any domino player across the island who believe they have what it takes to be crowned the best domino player in Jamaica.
“Eighty players have already earned a seat at the table by virtue of their strong performance during the tournament, however, the Finals is open to everyone who thinks they have skills to be the domino champion of Jamaica. All they have to do is come to the CBA on Sunday July 2, register and play. Of course, the fun won’t be limited to only those who are playing. Our spectators will be in for a treat as we are curating an interactive and exciting entertainment package to enhance the overall experience for everyone,” said Tulloch.
The players who have already tasted victory in the community tournaments, are eagerly anticipating the ultimate showdown and are already plotting their strategy to take the top prize.
Gerry Gardner, the winner from Montego Bay, reveals his strategy is to keep his opponents guessing at all times, “I will employ a deceptive style, utilising unorthodox shots to confound my competitors. Patience will be my virtue, ensuring precision in every move while minimising errors. My goal is to leave my opponents in awe and wondering what hit them.”
Garfield Brissett, the victorious player from Spanish Town, is planning a similar approach, “My plan is to keep my competitors guessing, leaving them unaware of whether I possess seven strong dominoes per game. By making it difficult for them to read my moves, I will secure my path to triumph.”
David Wright, the reigning champion of Caymanas Park, emphasises, “Consistency, focused concentration, and my unique ability to not only read my opponents' hands but also their mannerisms will give me the edge required to emerge as the true champion.”
Leroy Cooper, the seasoned player from May Pen, asserts, “My years of experience will serve as my unique element. The lessons I’ve learned and the expertise I’ve honed will guide me towards an inevitable victory.”
The competition promises to be a thrilling blend of rivalry, strategy and skills. Supreme Ventures Limited implores the public to mark their calendars for Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the CBA for the Finals that will commence at 2 p.m., following registration at 12 p.m. The entry fee for this high-stakes event is set at $1000, and the ultimate prize awaits the victor—bragging rights as Jamaica’s best domino player and an astounding J$1 million!
