Cricket Legend Chris Gayle strikes first class partnership with Broward County for ICC T20 World Cup
Former West Indies batting superstar Chris Gayle, also known as the “Universe Boss”, has been a partner in numerous winning combinations throughout his illustrious cricketing career.
And his latest venture is a sure shot, teaming up with teamed up with the ICC T20 World Cup organizers who he met thru Lauderhill Commissioner Denise Grant , to play the role of Cricket Ambassador for the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup, to be staged in June.
Gayle has always been comfortable playing at the top of the order and will be equally at ease with this new assignment.
Commissioner of Lauderhill, Denise Grant is elated that Broward was selected as one of the host cities and is excited to be working with Gayle who is bringing star power to the promotion of the tournament.
As a Jamaican born in Manchester and migrating to the United States at 9 years old, she is also excited about having Chris Gayle as Ambassador for the tournament.
Commissioner Grant, a Jamaican born in Manchester who migrated at the age of 9, is running for Mayor of Lauderhill in November 2024.
She met Gayle through his publicist Sean “Contractor” Edwards who arranged for the “Universe Boss” to attend a gala in honor of former West Indian batsman Lawrence Rowe, in Fort Lauderdale.
