Jamaica’s number one college lifestyle and entertainment brand, Campus Elite, in association with Kingston’s hottest lounge will be celebrating the 1-year anniversary of the weekly party series, Ribbie Reserve WNZDZ.
On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, the anniversary will be celebrated under the theme “Dancehall CyberPunk'' at Ribbiz UltraLounge.
To match the event's ambiance, the ‘futuristic, punk rock, edgy dystopia, techy cosplay with a dancehall flair’ dress code will be rigorously upheld. Thus, attendees are urged to refrain from wearing crop tops, slippers/slides, sweatpants/track pants, or hoodies. Adhering to the dress code is essential for admission into the venue and upon entry, patrons will be provided with glow glasses, glow armbands and glow shot glasses to further enhance the cyberpunk theme.
Making things a bit more interesting, Campus Elite organized a makeup challenge, where makeup artists across Jamaica were invited to submit their best dancehall cyberpunk inspired makeup designs. The challenge closed on June 5th and voting is currently open on the Campus Elit’s Instagram page, featuring 4 contestants, Solya Blake, Shante Tracy, Daniella DaCosta and Chinaka Copdion-Moore, who made their submissions following the detailed steps that were provided. Voting ends on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 9PM, where the entry with the most likes will receive $25,000.
“As we celebrate the first anniversary of RR WNDZ, we’re extremely thankful for the support we’ve received over the past year. Dancehall Cyberpunk is all about a fusion of retro-futuristic vibes and cutting-edge style so we’re bringing out the neon, we’re bringing the pulsating beats so that our patrons can experience an electrifying journey into the dancehall cyberpunk realm,” shares Sandre Malcolm, CEO of Campus Elite.
Dancehall Cyberpunk is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m., where DJs Laing D, Vinchi and Breeze will be the music masters for the night, setting the stage for a night of thrill as partygoers immerse themselves in the electrifying beats, welcoming the summer season. At approximately 11 pm, there will be a small presentation, announcing the winner or the MUA challenge, as well as to highlight DJ Breeze’s participation in the weekly event over the past year.
