Jamaican sprinting icon Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce made a shaky start to her season, winning her 100m heat at the JAAA Olympic French Foray III meet at the National Stadium on Saturday night.
Fraser-Pryce, 37, came from behind to edge out Jodean Williams at the line, clocking 11.15 seconds, the fastest time across the seven heats, as she began her quest for a ninth Olympic medal at the Paris Games, set to open on July 26.
This race marked Fraser-Pryce’s first competitive appearance since the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, nearly 10 months ago, and came just 12 days before Jamaica's Olympic trials, scheduled for June 27-30.
