With only three weeks to go for the ultimate summer festival, Dream Wknd has added another massive act to its roster. Rising dancehall superstar, Armani, is slated to appear at the 15th staging of the highly anticipated event, and is expected to put on a show stopping performance for the ladies.
Possessing a soulful, melodic voice, Armanii has managed to snag the support of young adults by sharing his music on the popular social media app, Tiktok. ‘How you feel’, ‘Facetime’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Dunce Barbie’, the artiste has built a solid fan base, catering to the Jamaican woman.
Recently, in building momentum for Dream’s anniversary celebration, popular party spot, Pier One, played host to the latest in the series of Dream Wknd 2024 launch parties, as part of the promotional activities leading up to the 15th staging, set for Negril in August.
The Dream Wknd promotional team got in the mix at Pier Pressure, a staple on the city’s weekly entertainment activities. The team amplified an already charged party space as they partied with patrons and gave away tickets to the event. The energy never dipped with locals and visitors partying till the wee hours of the morning.
Dream Entertainment Head of Operations Macheri Samuels stated that the response to the promotion has been extremely positive.
“The mood is one of excitement! From our interactions with patrons and promoters they’re gearing up again for another epic staging and of course, this is special for us as it’s the 15th anniversary. A stop in Montego Bay is also important as we have always gotten love from partygoers in Montego Bay and Pier Pressure is an ideal check in as the vibe is amazing,” Samuels said.
Throughout the night DJ Theron and DJ Quann played a slew of Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Masicka and Aidonia, which had the crowd in a frenzy. The musical geniuses displayed their talents by skillfully providing mixes of afrobeat and soca, which had patrons dancing and vibing to the beat of the sound.
Pier One’s General Manager, Jason Russell, was also happy with the collaboration as it provided an added bonus.
“Pier Pressure is not just a weekly party, it’s an experience that combines the best of Jamaican culture with the music and fun. The Dream Wknd team being in the space also brings an added level of excitement as patrons know the brand and the excitement surrounding it. As usual our DJs delivered to a full house and it was an awesome collaborative showing between our brands,” Russell explained.
