Grange congratulates ‘awesome’ Bunny Shaw

The Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, says it’s “fantastic news” that Jamaica’s Khadijah Shaw has won the PFA Women’s Player’s Player of the Year award.

The PFA is the union for footballers and scholars in the Premier League, the FA Women’s Super League and the English Football Leagues.

Shaw, who plays for Manchester City in the Super League, wins the award for the first time after ending the season as the league’s top scorer with 21 goals – including three hat-tricks – and three assists in just 18 appearances.

“I’m very happy for Bunny.  This is a very well-deserved award for a consistent, hardworking and inspirational Jamaican representative—one of the best footballers we’ve ever produced.  I congratulate her on this fine achievement.  Continue to be awesome, Bunny,” said Minister Grange.

It’s the first time the Reggae Girl has won the award.
