Celebrating over 72 years of leadership and innovation in Jamaica, Berger Paints Jamaica Limited (BPJL) is pleased to announce a significant investment of J $130 million into the construction of a modern manufacturing facility.

This expansion is strategically aimed at doubling BPJL’s Trowel-On production capacity, further cementing its position as the industry benchmark for quality, while responding to the rapidly growing demand for textured coatings across the region.

The new multi-product facility will allow the company to produce over 1 million litres of Trowel-On products annually. With the growing demand for textured coatings, the decision to scale up production capacity will ensure that the company continues to meet these demands with efficiency, all while maintaining the superior quality customers have come to expect.

“Through this investment, we are positioning ourselves to better serve both our local and regional customers, delivering high-quality solutions and continuing our legacy of excellence,” said Dwaine Williams, General Manager at Berger Paints Jamaica Limited.

This new facility will enable BPJL to continue driving innovation, as well as providing state of the art products. The plant will support the company’s innovation agenda and launch of new products, including roof compounds, joint compounds, and ready-to-use crack fillers, which have already begun entering the market, with more to come in 2025 and beyond.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Senator the Honourable Aubyn Hill welcomes this J $130 million investment. “Do you know what I like about today’s event? Berger paints Jamaica Ltd is a 72 year old Jamaican company, publicly listed on the Jamaica Stock exchange in 1972, and today Berger Paints Jamaica Ltd. has invested $130 million to expand this plant right here on Spanish Town Road,” Hill stated.

He continued to share that “Through this investment BPJL is making a decisive move, putting their money where their confidence is. This is more than business expansion, this is a resounding vote of confidence in the Jamaican economy and Jamaica's future. It is proof that Jamaica’s manufacturing sector is thriving and innovating. The Trowel-On business is Jamaican, born and done right here, and diversifying and competing on a global scale.”
