One Park Restaurant and Lounge, nestled at 1 Park Close in New Kingston, was honoured with the prestigious Best New Restaurant award at the 26th annual Jamaica
Observer Table Talk Food Awards last Thursday.
This recognition places One Park firmly among Jamaica’s culinary elite and cements its growing reputation within
Kingston’s vibrant dining scene. Building on its entrance to the dining landscape last December, the venue remains on
its exciting rebranding journey, evolving into a sleek, modern culinary destination with a vision for upscale, world-class cuisine infused with authentic local flair.
Publishers like the Jamaica Observer have already praised One Park’s open-concept kitchen, diverse international menu, and inviting lounge-style atmosphere. Their Sunset
on the Park launch event in December 2024, introduced the venue as a full-service lounge offering live music, premium spirits, and bespoke cigar evenings. The tone is
already set for a sophisticated yet welcoming dining experience.
At the heart of One Park’s rising success is its newly appointed Executive Chef, Judah Ellis, who brings fresh inspiration from Toronto’s vibrant culinary scene to Kingston.
His impressive career includes leadership roles with renowned brands like Restoration Hardware (RH) and the global JOEY Restaurant Group, where he launched new
restaurants as Executive and Head Training Chef. Under Chef Ellis’ leadership, the menu balances premium offerings like grass-fed steaks, jerk lamb rack, and Chilean sea
bass with handmade pizzas and thoughtful fusion dishes. He has curated a dining experience that ensures that every guest feels welcomed and well served.
One Park triumphed among strong contenders this year, with other notable nominees including Zen Bowls, Pink Apron, and H3 Restaurant. These modern dining spots
continue to deliver fresh, innovative culinary experiences that reflect Kingston’s evolution as a vibrant, globally inspired metropolis.
What’s Next
Building on this award-winning debut, One Park plans to unveil a comprehensive redesign of its dining and lounge areas, featuring refreshed décor, enhanced seating,
and expanded private spaces for events and intimate gatherings. “We’re focused on getting to know our guests and tailoring the space to their needs,”
said Patricia Wright Myrie, one of One Park’s directors, during the press launch of the
venue.
Come the fourth quarter of this year, patrons can look forward to new lounge-style seating, curated live entertainment nights, wine tastings, and carefully crafted private
events, all designed to keep the One Park experience fresh, memorable, and guest-focused.
One Park’s bold rebrand and commitment to personalized guest experiences have clearly resonated with Kingston’s food lovers. Winning Best New Restaurant at the
Jamaica Observer Food Awards marks the culmination of a focused reinvention, but more importantly, it signals the beginning of an inspiring journey.
With the leadership of Chef Ellis, the One Park team is well-positioned to become one of Kingston’s most beloved dining and entertainment destinations.
