The thrill of victory reached new heights at Caymanas
Park recently when seasoned punter M. Parker struck gold with an incredible $11 million
Twilight 6 bet win, marking the largest payout in three years at the iconic Portmore track
operated by Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL).
Parker, whose love affair with horse racing began over 30 years ago, has been a dedicated
fixture at Jamaica's premier racing venue. What started as an unfulfilled dream of becoming
a jockey has evolved into a passion that has now delivered life-changing results.
"I've always had a deep love for horse racing," said Parker. “I wanted to be a jockey when I
was younger but that didn’t work out. But I still love racing so even if I'm not betting, I'm
watching the races on TV. The sport has been part of my life for so long, and I've learned to
study the game seriously."
The winning formula behind Parker's success lies in his meticulous approach to
handicapping. He regularly consults historical information available on the Caymanas Park
website to inform his betting decisions, a strategy that has paid dividends throughout his
career, including previous wins at Gulfstream Park through Caymanas Park’s simulcast
offerings. and multiple Reggae 6 victories.
His recent $11 million haul from a $20,000 wager is his largest ever.
For Parker, it represents more than just personal achievement. The generous winner plans
to use his windfall to support his family's back-to-school expenses and continue building his
house – a project funded entirely through his horse racing winnings over the years.
"Mr. Parker represents a part of what makes our sport so great," noted Christel deRizzio, VP
Customer Operations at Caymanas Park. "He's not just a successful punter, he's someone
who gives back to his community and supports his family through his passion for horse
racing."

As a long-time supporter of racing, Parker also commented on the opportunities within
Jamaica's horse racing industry beyond wagering. “I’ve watched the sport over the years
and I can see where changes over the past few years like removing racing holidays, having
more and better races and having a proper school for jockeys to learn the craft is helping
the sport,” he said.
The would-be jockey to multimillion-dollar winner also welcomed the creation of online
betting platform mBet that makes it easier to wager when he can’t make it to the Park in
person, "Many punters like myself make money to take care of our families through
betting," Parker explained. "When you win whether you’re at the Park or online, you're
guaranteed to get your money from SVREL, which gives us confidence in the system."
Racing at Caymanas Park is scheduled for Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays excluding
Christmas Day and Good Friday. Wagering is available directly at the park, MBET online
through the SV Games platform or any of the over 100 OTB locations islandwide.
