PNP reaffirms commitment to national transformation, addresses voter concerns

Campaign spokesman for The People’s National Party (PNP) Raymond Pryce on Monday used a press briefing at its headquarters to deliver a compelling speech about the PNP’s transformational and national upliftment agenda, ahead of the general election on Wednesday, September 3.

The event underscored the PNP’s promise to campaign vigorously, lawfully, and with deep-rooted patriotism and to govern with dignity and purpose should they win the confidence of the Jamaican people.

“Candidates assembled by the People’s National Party are Jamaicans by birth. We are patriots. We are sons and daughters of the soil,” said Pryce. “We understand that our role in these elections is to campaign vigorously and within the law, and to ensure that upon our success, we represent the people who elect us with every fibre of our body, with our hearts and with our souls.”

Pryce underscored that a Mark Jefferson Golding-led administration would strive to achieve the plans of the party’s Mission Jamaica Love manifesto.

“We are committed to bring to life Mission Jamaica Love and to bring to the leadership of Mark Jefferson Golding so that Jamaica can be transformed during his tenure and that this country can become not just the land of our birth, but the land within which our dreams can be achieved our families will be safer, children will be educated, elderly and sick better taken care of and our men and women allowed to move in stride to achieve their own industrious results,” Pryce said.

Voter Concerns

Pryce took a moment to address voter concerns, misinformation, and recent attempts to sow confusion about the voting process.

“Misinformation is practised by persons in otherwise high places,” he said. “We are asking that for the correct information, people go directly to the website of the Electoral Office of Jamaica.”

However, for those engaging on social platforms, Pryce added that the PNP has set up verified channels for accurate and updated voter information on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok: @JamaicaPNP.

“We’ve also published an infographic that indicates our hotlines… and our candidates also have direct numbers and handles for persons to get information on voting day,” Pryce said.

He also encouraged voters to use the EOJ query feature, where Jamaicans can enter their full name and date of birth to see where to vote and in which constituency.

“You’ll be shown your polling station, your constituency, and your exact location within the constituency.”
