The first person to recover from COVID-19 in Jamaica has been released from hospital.
The patient from St. Ann was discharged on Sunday night, having had two negative tests for the virus.
With the release of the patient, Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton is urging Jamaicans not to shun those who have recovered from the disease.
"It is very important that the population accepts that COVID-19 is a risk... is a disease, but a disease that can be treated, and those persons who are unfortunate enough to have been affected, once they return to their community with the certification by the medical team that they are now well, they should be... reintegrated and not treated... in a discriminatory manner," he stressed.
Jamaica now has 36 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
