Following a one year absence due to challenges associated with the Covid-19 pandemic the regional 4-day Cricket Championship is set to return in January.
The most recent regional 4-day competition was brought to an end 2 rounds shy of completion in March of last year due to Covid-19.
Meanwhile, players who are centrally contracted by Cricket West Indies (CWI) are being assured that they will undergo no further cuts in their contracts despite the absence of the regional 4 day competition for this season.
Players and staff centrally contracted by CWI saw their salaries cut in half last year as regional cricket's governing body grappled with the financial constraints brought on by Covid-19.
They were returned to their full salaries after 6 months as CWI was able to confirm a number of international home series during the summer.
