A man was arrested in Cornwall Mountain in Westmoreland on the weekend in connection with the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition.
The man was held during an operation on Saturday night.
It was reported that a team of officers on patrol observed a group of men standing at a bar.
On the approach of the police, one of the men was reportedly seen removing an object from his waistband.
He was accosted.
The object was found to be a Beretta nine millimetre pistol with a magazine containing 11 rounds of ammunition.
