PM announces plans to build school for entertainers and musicians

Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced on Tuesday that his administration will be constructing a school to train entertainers and musicians.

Mr Holness asserted that this was necessary to help halt the deterioration of the Jamaican society.

He was speaking at a ground-breaking for Jamaica's first Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics, STEAM, Academy in Bernard Lodge St Catherine.

The government plans to build a total six STEAM schools at a total cost of US$133 million.

An institution for the Arts will also be constructed.

Mr Holness said this institution will help empower young people.
