DANCEHALL deejay Aidonia and wife, Kimberly Megan, bid farewell to their nine-year-old son Khalif Lawrence at a thanksgiving service held at Boulevard Baptist Church in St Andrew on Saturday.
The youngster passed away on December 3, 2022 after battling with cancer for more than three years.
Among those attending the funeral was Bounty Killer, who posted highlights to Instagram. Most mourners were clad in red, Khalid's favourite colour.
""HOLY TO THEE, O LORD. FLY HIGH, KING KHALIF. Come unuh send all the prayers to these two families. In this challenging time deepest sympathy goes out," Bounty Killer wrote in the caption.
Wayne Marshall gave an emotional rendition of his 2018 song Glory to God, while Jah Vinci did a cover of Mary Mary's Can't Give Up Now.
Family members also gathered in the church yard to set several doves free as part of the proceedings.
At the Sandz Caribbean Music Festival Stadium East in St Andrew on New Year's Day, Aidonia and wife took the stage. He expressed appreciation for her support over the years.
"We lose we son and everything but we ah go overcome, enuh. Jamaica love we, the people love we, God love we, friend dem love we, we family love we," Aidonia added.
The pair tied the knot in 2016 when their son was three years old.
