Stocks fell at twice the rate that they advanced on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) on Thursday.
On the day 109 stocks traded, with 61 stocks declining, 29 advancing, and the rest staying firm.
The overall index continues to dip slowly back towards 2020 lows when the pandemic began wiping out gains for that year.
On Thursday leading gainers were CAC preference shares up 15 per cent to $1.17 and Eppley up 11 per cent to $3.96.
Leading decliners were Cargo Handlers down 11 per cent to $12.13, and Stanley Motta down 10 per cent to $4.30.
The heaviest volumes came from Paramount Trading and Wigton Windfarm with 4.4 million units and 9.3 million units respectively.
Also on the day, JSE Combined Index declined by 1,992.86 points (0.56 per cent) to close at 354,438.51 points and the volume traded amounted to 24,339,368 valued at $62,701,383.76.
Also on the day, JSE Main Index declined by 1,426.90 points (0.42 per cent) to close at 340,945.48 points and the Junior Market Index declined by 72.07 points (1.79 per cent) to close at 3,963.89 points.
The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 10.15 points (4.43 per cent) to close at 219.13 points and the volume traded amounted to 384,296 valued at $23,977.57.
The JSE Cross Listed Index declined by 0.29 points (0.50 per cent) to close at 57.56 points and the volume traded amounted to 2,193 valued at $278,004.60 and the JSE Financial Index declined by 0.24 points (0.29 per cent) to close at 81.51 points and the volume traded amounted to 2,945,852 valued at $18,473,750.69.
The JSE Manufacturing & Distribution Index declined by 0.86 points (0.90 per cent) to close at 94.62 points and the volume traded amounted to 8,736,705 valued at $28,393,011.56.
