Hondurans Caught With Ganja At Sea Arrested

THREE HONDURANS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH BREACHES OF THE DANGEROUS DRUGS ACT

The Narcotics Police have charged three Hondurans who were intercepted
off the coast of Westmoreland and found with over two million dollars worth of ganja.

They are:
 31-year-old Humberto Cirilo,
 27-year-old Cristyfor Elliot and
 36-year-old Andes Hopkin all of Guanaja, Honduras.

The three are charged jointly with the offences of :

 Possession of Ganja
 Dealing in Ganja
 Taking Steps Preparatory to Export Ganja
 Conspiracy and
 Use of Conveyance.

The men were arrested on November 19, about 9:00 p.m., when the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF)
Coast Guard intercepted a vessel off the coast of Negril, Westmoreland. The vessel was searched
and 656 pounds of compressed ganja were found. The Narcotics Police were contacted and the
men were subsequently handed over to them. The drugs have an estimated street value of 2.62
million JMD.

The men are scheduled to appear in the Westmoreland Parish Court on Tuesday, December 03,
2019.

Sleuths in the Clarendon Division arrested and charged a man with the murder of a Kingston woman just 24 hours after her body was discovered in bushes along Sevens
Road in the parish on Monday, November 25.

Clarendon’s crime officer, Deputy Superintendent Anglin, who led the investigative team, said the team worked tirelessly following up on leads and completing the necessary paperwork to lay the
charges.

“They showed true commitment to their oath of office and to the people of Jamaica,” he said.

The accused, 31-year-old Simester Ellis, otherwise called ‘National’, of Buck Common district in Clarendon, was charged with the murder of Nadia Nicholson, whose decomposing body was
found by residents about 3:30 p.m.

Ellis was picked up on Tuesday, November 26 during an operation in May Pen in the parish. Investigators say several items of probative value were seized during the operation, and have
pledged to continue to explore all leads.

Ellis was charged after being interviewed in the presence of his attorney. His court date will be announced later.

Klansman Murderer To Be Sentenced December 11

A man accused of killing a woman and her daughter in Lauriston St. Catherine has been found guilty on both counts. The jury deliberated for two hours and 27 minutes before returning with a unanimous verdict.

He will be sentenced on December 11. His three co-accused who pleaded guilty to the same crime will also be sentenced that day.

Charmaine Rattary and Joeth Lynch were shot, chopped and beheaded by gunmen who invaded their home on July 19, 2011.

Investigators said they were killed by members of the Klansman gang.
