Karl Samuda mourns passing of Utech student

Minister without Portfolio with responsibility for education, youth and information, Karl Samuda, has joined the chorus of outrage over the death of a Utech student. The Minister condemned the brutal murder even as he expressed his condolences to the family of University of Technology (UTech) student, Kyle Patterson, who was shot and killed on Wentworth Avenue in Mona, St Andrew late on Monday evening.

There will be no Shaggy and Friends concert in  2020. During a press conference on Monday, Shaggy confirmed that the event will be postponed until further notice as the foundation was unable secure a venue for the concert.

Minister Grange elected Vice-President of UNESCO

The Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, has been elected a Vice-President of the 40th Session of the UNESCO General Conference which is underway in Paris, France.

 

The General Conference, which happens every two years, brings together the 193 members of UNESCO to decide on the policies and work of the organisation.
