Chuck continues to push for tougher sentences for murderers

IN the wake of seven people being killed in the last 72 hours Justice Minister Delroy Chuck is again making a case for harsher minimum sentences to be imposed for people who commit capital murder.

Flow first to offer the new Jamaica 658 area code

Jamaica’s leading communication and entertainment provider, Flow, today became the first to offer mobile customers the new 658 area code following approval from the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR). The company is also the first in the English-speaking Caribbean to offer a second area code.

THE police moved swiftly Thursday to calm jitters when it reported that the shooting and injury of Ryan Evans, director of corruption and prevention at the Integrity Commission (IC), was a robbery - after early speculation that it could be an attack for his work at the commission.

An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale was felt across Jamaica at approximately 7:31 last evening. No damage was reported up to press time last night.
