The rush is on as JCDC begins to accept entries for Festival Queen, Festival Song and Gospel Star Competitions for 2026
Early submissions are already signalling positive momentum as the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, opens entries for its 2026 cycle of national Entertainment Arts Competitions – Miss Jamaica Festival Queen, Jamaica Festival Song, and Jamaica Gospel Star.
Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia “Babsy” Grange, today revealed fifteen Reggae Gold awardees and one Hall of Fame inductee for the 2026 Reggae Gold Awards & Jamaica Music Museum Hall of Fame Induction, scheduled for Friday, February 27, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. at the National Arena, National Stadium Complex.

Another stalwart of reggae music, Anthony Wilson, who was popularly known as Supa Dee, a music producer, promoter, and operator of the famous Supa Dee sound system, has passed.
Jamaican reggae artist Keznamdi McDonald won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album for BIxxd & Fyah at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday.
