Jamaica Promotions Corporation (Jampro) participated in the UK's first Transatlantic Trade Fair for Tech Services - CrossConnect Forum for the first time on Wednesday.

The event provides enterprise leaders from Europe and the UK with new strategies to engage partners in the Americas, overcome operational pressures, and sustain market leadership in a rapidly evolving global commerce environment.

Jampro was represented at the event by Vivion Scully, Manager, Global Digital Services, who shared insights on how the knowledge-services supply chains originating in Jamaica can contribute to the digital talent hubs emerging worldwide.

The event offered an opportunity to engage potential investors from Europe, a new market for Jamaica.

The Jamaican Global Digital Services (GDS) sector was also represented by Yoni Epstein, CEO of ItelCX, Mark Kerr-Jarrett, Managing Director of Barnett Tech Park, and Laurence Jones, Manager for Jampro's Regional European Office.

Their participation underscores Jamaica's position as a leader in the knowledge-services industry, providing world-class services to global enterprises.

Jamaica's GDS Sector has been averaging a 20 per cent employment growth rate, among the highest in the world.

Employment in the industry is estimated at just over 60,000 persons, achieving almost US$1 billion in revenue earnings per annum due to Jamaica’s advantages as a prime nearshore location, talent availability driving growth in investments and jobs, alongside special Economic Zone Incentives.

"We are excited to participate in this important event that provides a platform to showcase Jamaica's strength in the global digital services industry," said Shullette Cox, President of Jampro. The range of global digital services from Jamaica continues to diversify as companies move to leverage the growing range of applicable skills in the country and take advantage of opportunities in the sector; These opportunities include Shared Services, Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO), as well as Knowledge Processing Outsourcing (KPO).”
