NCB has warned of potential delays in delivering its services due to Beryllium's assessment of its operations islandwide.

This may affect NCB's ability to serve customers effectively using its ABMs, dropbox, and cash pick-up services, with potential delays in-branch, NCB said in a statement.

Consequently, NCB customers are advised to use digital banking channels such as online banking and the mobile app for bill payments and transfers, where possible.

The incident has prompted Scotiabank to close its Portmore branch to the public and encourage customers to utilise alternate banking channels. 

Beryllium Limited has confirmed that the driver of the vehicle and three other crew members were shot and injured in the attack, with no mention of the cash taken.

However, an informed source has indicated that the attackers made off with over $23 million in cash.

This incident follows a similar attack only weeks ago, where gunmen escaped with over $10 million in cash after fatally shooting one guard and leaving another nursing injuries at Portmore Pines Plaza.

NCB has condemned the violence against its service provider and offered sympathies to those affected.
