Windies lose first T20 against India

The West Indies started off their T20 international series against India on a losing note after going down by six wickets in Hyderabad on Friday.

Sent to bat, the Caribbean side posted 207-5 from their 20 overs. Shimron Hetmeyer top scored with 56.

Evin Lewis chipped in with 40 and captain Kieron Pollard made 37. Jamaican Brandon King in just his 5th match for the Windies, contributed with 31. Yuzvendra Chahal took 2-36 for the Indians. 

In reply, India got to their target of 209-4 with 8 balls to spare. Man of the Match Virat Kohli led the way with an unbeaten 94 which included 6 fours and 6 sixes. Kohli shared in a 100 run 2nd wicket parnership with KL Rahul who made 62.

Khary Pierre took 2-44 while Jamaican Sheldon Cottrell and captain Pollard took the other wickets. Pollard was disappointed with the bowlers for their poor execution. The second T20 bowls off on Sunday in Kerala.
