Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister, Senator Kamina Johnson Smith, is commending Canadian High Commissioner to Jamaica, Her Excellency Emina Tudakovic, for assistance in paving the way for 200,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines being scheduled to be delivered to Jamaica on Thursday this week.

The Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines are being donated by the Government of Canada.

Minister Johnson Smith says discussions with representatives of the Canadian Government went well.

The Foreign Affairs Minister says logistics are being finalized ahead of the delivery of the batch of vaccines.

The vaccines are expected to bolster the Government of Jamaica’s efforts to expand its national vaccination programme.
