$30.4 b in new estimates for 60,000 civil servants

FINANCE Minister Dr Nigel Clarke has appealed to Parliament for more time to present details of the Government's new compensation scheme for the public sector, promising that the information will be provided once negotiations with central government groups are complete.

Major unions sign new public sector compensation agreement

The Ministry of Finance and the Public Service (MOFPS) has reached agreement with a number of major public sector trade unions, including a majority of the unions in the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions, on the new, restructured public sector compensation system.
