Two women and a man were shot dead on King Street in the vicinity of National Heroes Circle in Kingston shortly before midnight Thursday.

Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Jeremy Taylor, assured presiding judge Justice Vinnette Graham Allen that prosecutors "hope to get the statements by the end of April." The court was also told that they had received "certain documents" on Wednesday that were disclosed to the defence team.

Additionally, one of Maitland's attorneys, Chadwick Berry said the defence was only provided with transcripts of the audio file the prosecution said implicated Maitland, and not the audio.

This, Taylor assured, will be disclosed as well.

Berry also requested a renewed bail application for his client on the next court date due to concerns expressed by Maitland. This request was approved by the judge.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has expressed his outrage at the murder of nine-year-old Nikita Noel, saying the "horrifying murder is a shock to our collective conscience" and "can only be described as evil”.

The police are yet to establish a motive in the shooting death of architect Euchon Darling in St Andrew on Tuesday evening.
