Desperate search for Martina

Police and a family in Papine are desperately searching for a 13-year-old girl who has been reported missing since Monday, November 11.

A Clarendon man who opened fire on two women in a house, killing one, will face the court to answer to charges stemming from breaches of the Offences Against the Person Act and the Firearms Act.

Douglas Vaz is dead

Former industry and commerce minister, Douglas Vaz, died early on Sunday morning.

Reports emerging out of Trelawny is that it was an enraged jealous male who killed his former lover and her young lover in a murderous rage in Freeman's Hall in a brutal double homicide last month. Police have now charged the  man in connection with the double murder of 50-year-old Sophia Bryan, otherwise called ‘Carol’, and 28-year-old Junior Bailey, also called ‘Bad Walk’.

Brutal rape of 93 year old woman in St. Ann

The brutal rape of a 93-year-old woman in Keith district, Brown's Town has stunned the island. The senior citizen is currently in hospital recovering from the ordeal. Reports are that the woman was at home about 3 on Thursday morning, when she was attacked and sexually assaulted. St Ann is a popular tourist destination and is known for its low crime rate. He, however, expressed concern about the high number of criminal activities in the parish in recent times. Detectives from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), and from the Brown's Town police station are at the hospital with the woman.

 
Relatives of members of a religious group Qahal Yahweh Church whose St. James compound was raided erlier this week by police have called for a deeper forensic investigation of the group which allegedly isolates family members and demands titles and properties from its members.

Slight increase in murders despite SOEs
