After two thrilling days of intense competition and vibrant sportsmanship at the National Aquatic Centre, the Mayberry High Performance Swim Classic 2026 has officially concluded.
The highly anticipated meet, which took place on Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21, saw scores of student-athletes from across the island diving in to showcase their immense discipline and passion for the sport.
Following the phenomenal success of previous years, Friday's events maintained the signature 'High-Performance' meet style tailored specifically for high school and tertiary competitors. This premium format provided the perfect stage for senior athletes to push their limits, trust their preparation, and showcase their absolute best.
In the High School Girls category, Immaculate Conception High School emerged victorious, claiming the top spot with an impressive 474 points. They were followed by Campion College with 364 points and St Andrew High School with 287 points. In the High School Boys division, Wolmers Boys School secured the championship title with 454.50 points, narrowly edging out Campion College (362 points) and Jamaica College (331 points).
In the Tertiary division, the University of the West Indies dominated the pool with 150 points, finishing ahead of the University of Technology's 15 points.
Friday’s high-performance events also saw several meet records shattered:
- Julian Willoughby(Campion College) set a new meet record in the Boys 15-16 50m Freestyle with a time of 24.40.
- Kai Lawson(Wolmers Girls School) broke two records, clocking 1:01.22 in the Girls 12 & Under 100m Freestyle and 31.70 in the 50m Backstroke.
- Jamaica Collegeset a new standard in the Boys 15-16 400m Medley Relay with a record-breaking time of 4:19.07.
Individual High Point honours for the High School divisions were awarded to standout athletes:
- 12 & Under:Kai Lawson (Wolmers Girls School, 36 points); Caleb Williams (Kingston College) and Noah Kim (Hillel Academy High School) tied for the boys' top spot with 29 points.
- 13–14:Emanuelle Spence (Kingston Online Learning, 36 points) and Arush Rochlani (Hillel Academy High School, 31 points).
- 15–16:Shreya Guwalani (Mount Alvernia High School, 26 points) and Kai Radcliffe (Wolmers Boys School, 25 points).
- 17 & Over:Renae Chung (Wolmers Girls School, 45 points) and Charles McIntosh (St Georges College, 39 points).
On Saturday, the venue transitioned into a vibrant, high-energy environment to host the Prep and Primary School divisions. Cheered on by packed stands of devoted swimming enthusiasts, the younger athletes delivered spectacular performances that highlight the incredibly bright future of Jamaican aquatic sports.
In the Prep School Girls category, Creative Kids Learning Academy took the title with 227 points, followed by Immaculate Conception Prep (152 points) and Mona Preparatory School (131 points). In the Prep School Boys category, Sts Peter and Paul Prep claimed the top spot in commanding fashion with 253 points, followed by Hillel Prep (167.50 points) and Mona Preparatory School (104.50 points). Meanwhile, Excelsior Primary School emerged as the champion in the Primary School Girls division with 41 points.
Individual High Point honours for the younger divisions included:
- 6 & Under:Azuri Stanberry (Liguanea Prep) and Khayr Hall (St Hugh's Preparatory School).
- 7–8:Zuri Robertson (Emmanuel Christian Academy) and Matthew Dewar (Creative Kids Learning Academy).
- 9–10:Danielia Powell (Creative Kids Learning Academy) and Sergio Dalrymple (Hosana Prep).
- 11–12:Skylar Smith (Mona Preparatory School), Steven Hoo Fung (American International School of Kingston), and Jordayna Thomas (Excelsior Primary School).
Desirée Wheeler, Marketing Manager at Mayberry Investments Limited, expressed her pride in the athletes' performances.
