Following two highly successful stagings in Kingston, “Lovers Rock: A Night of British Reggae” returns for its highly anticipated third edition, taking the celebration of British Lovers Rock and reggae culture to Ocho Rios, St. Ann, for Jamaica’s Heroes Weekend.
The event takes place on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the picturesque Oceans 11, Lot 6 Fisherman’s Point Road, Ocho Rios, promising an unforgettable night of classic Lovers Rock, British reggae, roots reggae and sound-system culture. This year’s staging will bring together music lovers from Jamaica, the United Kingdom and the wider Caribbean and diaspora for a celebration of a genre that has played an important role in reggae’s international development.
One of the major highlights of this year’s event will be the appearance of Buppy C, special guest DJ from Vibes FM London, bringing the authentic sound and atmosphere of the UK reggae scene to Ocho Rios. A familiar voice and selector within the British reggae community, Buppy C will join an accomplished lineup of DJs for a night dedicated to the music that has connected generations of reggae fans across Jamaica and the United Kingdom.
