Murder, shooting, rape up in Manchester

Police are reporting an increase in reported rape cases, murders and shootings in Manchester since the start of the year compared to the corresponding period last year (January 1 – October 10).

Gun used by robbers, hostage takers found

Following a systematic search by members of the Caribbean Search Centre and officers assigned to the St. Andrew Central Police Division, the firearm and ammunition used in the attempted robbery/ hostage incident in Kingston 10 has been seized.

The Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, has met with stakeholders in the entertainment industry to discuss several areas of concern, including provisions of the Noise Abatement Act.
