This Friday, July 7, 2023, the top 4 out of 16 contestants will be announced, and the grounds of Romeich Entertainment HQ will be electrified as the chosen 4 will storm the stage to deliver hits after hits, in an effort to secure a spot in the finals.
Following the show’s hiatus in 2021, the 16 contestants were chosen from video auditions submitted to the Magnumhub.tv platform. Subsequent to that, the first round of the show went live on Magnumhub.tv on Friday, June 16th, and later hit the stage at the very first Magnum Top Performa Roadshow held in Linstead.
Magnum prides itself on staying true to the dancehall culture, unearthing fresh dancehall talents year after year. “We are very culture oriented here at Magnum. Our competitions have always been about exposing talents that are frequently overlooked. We have seen where our talent competitions have taken artistes from the street and catapulted them into the spotlight, placing them on platforms they’ve never been on before” explained Kamal Powell, Regional Marketing Manager, Magnum Tonic Wine.
The July 7th roadshow, commencing at 7pm, will feature performances by Magnum’s newest brand ambassador, Laa Lee. Bishop Escobar will, once more lead as host, with Shukkle Bus and DJ Deva Kidd holding the fort down as the vibe masters.
This series of roadshows marks Magnum’s lead up to Reggae Sumfest. In partnership with the official drink of dancehall, the winner of the competition will make his/her debut on the Reggae Sumfest stage. With Reggae Sumfest around the corner, Magnum Tonic Wine has decided to host several giveaways, which will reward the lucky winners with the chance to win tickets to the greatest Reggae show on Earth. In addition to the Sumfest debut, the winner of the 2023 Top Performa will get the opportunity to work with Chimney Records on a song, amongst other prizes and surprises.
Kamal continued to state that “We are happy with this partnership.
