The Caribbean’s most anticipated race day, the
Mouttet Mile Invitational, is gearing up for a sixteen-horse showdown on December 7,
2024.

The conditions for Caymanas Park’s marquee race day were recently unveiled at
a media launch for the 3rd Running of the Mouttet Mile.

The 2024 Mouttet Mile Invitational will feature a maximum field of 16 participants, with
ten positions reserved for horses domiciled in Jamaica before January 1, 2024, and six
positions designated for horses not domiciled in Jamaica before the same date. In the
absence of international entrants, the remaining spots will be filled by horses domiciled
in Jamaica, emphasizing the event's commitment to showcasing local talent.

The horses domiciled in Jamaica will be selected based on the highest year-to-date
earnings in Jamaica between January 1, 2024 and November 30, 2024. In an exciting
new feature, horses that have won one of the “Win & You’re In” races are exempt. This
year’s “Win & You’re In” races are - The Jamaica Derby (Gr. I) - 12 Furlongs, The Philip
Feanny OD Gold Cup (Gr. I) - 7 Furlongs, The Jamaica Cup (Gr. I) - 9 1/2 Furlongs and
The Port Royal Sprint (Gr. I) - 6 Furlongs.

Participants in the 2024 Mouttet Mile Invitational will be determined based on the
highest year-to-date earnings in Jamaica from January 1, 2024, to November 30, 2024.
This stringent criterion ensures that only the most accomplished contenders compete
for victory, promising a race of unparalleled excitement and intensity.

Solomon Sharpe, Executive Chairman of Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment
Limited (SVREL), operators of Caymanas Park, shared his excitement and highlighted
the growing global interest in the event. “We were thrilled with the success of last year’s
event, and we are eager to capitalize on that momentum to make this year's event even
better," he stated. "Our goal is to solidify Caymanas Park’s position as the premier
destination for racing in the Caribbean. We are already witnessing increased interest
from jockeys, owners, sponsors, and other racing enthusiasts, both locally and
internationally, who are eager to participate in the hottest race in the Caribbean. The
announcement of the increased purse of US$250,000 for this year has further enhanced
the event's appeal for prospective participants. Now that we have made the conditions
public, we anticipate even greater interest in the Mouttet Mile.”

The Mouttet Mile Invitational is a Grade One event for native-bred and imported three-
year-olds and upward, covering a mile (1,600m). In successive years, the race day has
set the record for the largest purse in the English-speaking Caribbean. The 2024 purse,
announced immediately after the 2023 staging, is set at a historic US$250,000 – the
largest ever yet again.

In the 2nd Running of the Mouttet Mile, the imported thoroughbred Rough Entry, guided
by French-born jockey Julien Leparoux, trained by Rohan Crichton, owned by Rohan
Crichton, Daniel Walters & Dennis Smith, and groomed by Raymond Irwin, emerged
victorious.
