Box office hit "Top Gun: Maverick" continues its global reign, after a successful weekend following National Cinema Day in the US.

Reports are that the inspector accosted a man who aroused his suspicion, and, during the confrontation, the man pulled a gun and fired, hitting the policeman.

The cop has been admitted to hospital in stable condition.

Several senior officers are at the scene.

Reports reachingE are that the gunmen surprised the cop and shot him.

He managed to draw his service firearm and shot one of the gunmen.
