Taxi operators in Eastern St. Thomas are threatening to withdraw their service for a third straight day until the authorities address the poor road conditions in the parish. 
The third police officer charged with the murder of a 29-year-old tiler in Red Hills, St. Andrew, has been offered bail in the sum of $1 million.

A  policeman was shot in the face by gunmen in Linstead, St Catherine on Monday afternoon.

Reports are that the inspector accosted a man who aroused his suspicion, and, during the confrontation, the man pulled a gun and fired, hitting the policeman.

The cop has been admitted to hospital in stable condition.

Several senior officers are at the scene.

Reports reachingE are that the gunmen surprised the cop and shot him.

He managed to draw his service firearm and shot one of the gunmen.

Three children died and a fourth suffered critical injuries during a fire which destroyed their home in Springfield, Westmoreland.
